Metis was the goddess of crafty thought and wisdom she had already given birth to the child.Īthena had a calm temperament and never fought needlessly. He feared that she would birth to a child more powerful than he. She has no mother, but legend says that Zeus lay with Metis and then swallowed her whole. Zeus developed a mighty headache Athena sprang from the forehead of Zeus fully grown and clad in armour from head to toe. She is the patron goddess of heroic endeavors. She is portrayed as the companion of heroes. Athena is the virgin Greek Goddess of wisdom, war, inspiration, courage, skill, crafts, the arts, strategy, strength, mathematics, law and justice, and inspiration. ![]()
